Do You Have the Right Mindset to Succeed in Business?
So many women just like you, have big goals and aspiration for wanting to launch their own business. They like the ideal of living their life on their own terms, after spending years in a job helping to build someone else’s dream.
The job was the perfect platform to develop skills and grain knowledge in areas that you never had before and after careful consideration, you have now decided to venture on your own.
The main reason for the sudden change of heart is because of the uncertainty within the job market. A job as you know, is no longer for life. Also, the commuting back and forth can also take its toll after a while because it feels so mundane. So naturally the option to launch a business will obviously be a no brainer.
Although it may seem like the obvious thing to do, things will not necessary fall into place with you if you don’t shift your mindset in the right direction. It’s not enough to have the idea to launch the business. You also need to have the right mindset to support you in achieving your goals. Otherwise it will just be a dream floating around in your head.
For instance, the biggest factor that will expose what is currently taking place in your mind, is the actions you have or haven’t been taking. If you tend to procrastinate on your tasks, or keep hopping from one thing to the next, it is clearly highlighting that you’re not truly aligned to what it is that you say that you want. There is an inner conflict inside of you that doesn’t really believe that you can obtain it. This is commonly known as being the fear of failure or the fear of success.
The more that you allow your mind to hold you captive to your fear of succeeding of having a wonderful business that will serve others, the more that you will continue to sabotage yourself.
If you want to develop the mindset of a successful entrepreneur, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes to breaks the cycle. It’s not enough to be aware of the problem. You have to become determined to do something about it.
You might find it useful to journal your thoughts around why and where this pattern of behaviour came from and what steps you will start to implement. Or maybe consider getting some support whether its from an accountability partner, mentor or coach who will challenge you and help you to become more self-conscious of the habits you have formulated along the way.
In closing, whatever you decide to do, don’t try and tackle it on your own because developing the mindset to succeed in business will continue to be a lifelong journey. It won’t happen overnight.
